Say Anythings New Album!2

Say Anything has released their new self titled album. This band is lead by Max Bemis the lead singer. He grew up in California where he found out he was bipolar after he had a break down and wound up in the hospital. Max is talented at singing and playing the guitar and loved music since he was little. This is his third album with J records and is very strong musically. Max usually introduces lots of emotion into his music and has a somewhat cynical point of view. On this album, however, Max Bemis has a more positive outlook on life, such as in the song Cemetery where he admits to wanting to live life. The music is still strong but has a more refined feel about it. Max also still shows his sense of humor, not just his emotional side. In the song, Hate Everyone, he says, “I hate actors who seem genuine.” His strong sense of irony shows up in this album. An example is in the song, Death for my Birthday; the man asks God for death as a birthday gift even when he gets a family and a good job; then when he is dying, he asks for one more birthday. I feel Say Anything’s self titled album is up to par with their previous work. If you liked them before, you will probably like them now. I know I did!
