2,4,6,8! Who Do We Appreciate? Cheerleaders!

Go, Fight, Win! Our Charger Cheerleaders are loud and proud! Going to every game, cheering our teams to victory, and supporting our teams even in defeat our cheerleaders are always there. With the addition of new members this year: junior Alyssa Fonseca, junior tumbler Kathleen Lavery, and all the new freshmen, our cheerleaders are as peppy and excited as ever. They have been invited to compete in the Chicago Christian Competition this year and we hope for a victory!  I talked to juniors Haley McCoy, Alison Aloisio, and Kathleen Lavery about their experiences. Here’s what they had to say:

Q: Why’d you decide to join cheerleading?

Haley: I came to ACC not knowing anyone and I thought cheerleading would help me make new friends. At the same time I got to do something I love to do.

Ali: Making friends, plus I love cheering!

Kathleen: I quit gymnastics but still wanted to keep up with tumbling and it’s something fun to do.

Q: How long have you all been cheering?

H: This is my 12th year being a cheerleader.

A: This is my fourth year.

K: I tried out freshmen year, but ended up injured. So, this is my first year!

Q: What is your favorite part of cheering?

H: My favorite part would have to be the mini-bus rides!

A: We are all very close. Practice doesn’t seem like practice. We work hard, but have tons of fun doing it.

K: Finally hitting a stunt that we’ve been working at.

Q: Do you have any goals for this season?

H: Smile, hit our stunts, and do our best.

A: To best it up at competition!

K: I agree with Ali, to do our best at competition!

Made a few spell changes. Did Ali say “beast at competition” or best? I changed to best.

Thanks for doing this and your writing is lively. I’m smiling.
